Welcome to Wellsboro, home of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. The Wellsboro Johnston Airport is located 6 miles Southwest of downtown Wellsboro. It is available for use by business and private aircraft. Formerly a state run airport, the Wellsboro Johnston Airport was purchased by the Grand Canyon Airport Authority and is managed by Craig A. Musser.
The airport provides 100LL and soon Jet A aviation fuels, aircraft parking, hangars and passenger terminal. Aviation fuels are self-service and are available 24/7. Jet A will also be made available at your aircraft anywhere on N38′s grounds during normal business hours or by calling 570-724-3746 to pre-arrange delivery to your aircraft.
The Canyon Pilots Association with help from the Canyon Country Ultralight Club, USUA Club 203, sponsor fly in breakfasts each spring (Sunday before Memorial Day) and summer (Sunday before Labor Day).
We are a non-towered airport that provides access to the northern tier of Pennsylvania and the southern tier of New York. Business, GA and ultralight activity are all a part the Wellsboro Johnston Airport.
The airport is located in the heart of the Marcellus Shale and provides a gateway to the private business traveler who needs easy access to the area without the additional hour long drive from the Elmira or Williamsport airports.
